Mikey Madison won’t be joining the cast of the highly anticipated Ryan Gosling Star Wars project.
According to Variety, a source close to the production revealed that the 26-year-old actress was offered a role in the upcoming Star Wars installment, which features Ryan Gosling, 44, in the lead. Despite the opportunity, Madison decided not to take the part.
Little has been shared about the movie, officially titled Star Wars: Starfighter, but it’s being directed by Shawn Levy, known for his work on Deadpool & Wolverine. The film promises a brand-new journey in the Star Wars universe, complete with fresh characters and adventures.
“It takes place after the Battle of Exegol, post-Episode IX,” Levy, 56, explained during the project’s announcement in April. He added that this timeline presents plenty of room for fresh, exciting storytelling that maintains the heart and thrill fans expect from Star Wars.

“I heard the rumors that Ryan Gosling might star in my movie — and I want to confirm that those rumors are absolutely true,” he said to an excited crowd.

Madison is riding high after her Academy Award win for Anora, where she portrayed the lead — a sex worker caught in a whirlwind Cinderella-style love story.
