Robert Irwin Dancing with the Stars

Robert Irwin Dancing with the Stars has officially become a reality! During Disney Entertainment Television’s Get Real Event on April 22, the exciting announcement was made: Dancing with the Stars is returning for its 34th season — and Robert Irwin is the first celebrity contestant revealed.

Appearing shirtless with a snake draped around his shoulders, Robert took the stage to share how honored he feels to be joining the show. He fondly recalled watching his sister, Bindi Irwin, take home the mirrorball trophy in 2015 and how that moment inspired him.

“I remember thinking, ‘One day, that’ll be me.’ Now, that dream has come true, and I couldn’t be more thrilled,” Robert told the audience.

The full lineup of celebrity contestants and professional dancers for season 34 is expected to be announced soon.

At 21, Robert Irwin continues to follow in the footsteps of his late father, Steve Irwin, by championing wildlife conservation. Alongside his sister Bindi and mother Terri, Robert works at Australia Zoo and starred in the series Crikey! It’s the Irwins, which carries on his father’s legacy.

In September 2024, he was named a global ambassador for Prince William’s Earthshot Prize, solidifying his role as a global environmental advocate. And now, Robert Irwin Dancing with the Stars brings his conservation message to an entirely new stage.

Recently, Robert gained widespread attention with a bold modeling campaign for Bonds, an Australian underwear brand making its U.S. debut. Posing alongside venomous creatures like snakes and spiders, Robert said the campaign helps raise awareness for wildlife causes.

“I’ve found unique ways to carry on my dad’s mission,” Robert shared. “If that means modeling with Aussie wildlife to reach a wider audience, I’m all for it.”

When asked how Steve Irwin might have reacted to the steamy photo shoot, Robert joked, “There’d definitely be a few ‘Crikeys’!”

Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars was a ratings success, becoming the top show in the 18–49 age bracket and drawing 7.95 million viewers. The finale broke records with over 32 million votes — setting high expectations for Robert’s season.
