Robert Irwin Dancing with the Stars has officially become a reality! During Disney Entertainment Television’s Get Real Event on April 22, the exciting announcement was made: Dancing with the Stars is returning for its 34th season — and Robert Irwin is the first celebrity contestant revealed.
Appearing shirtless with a snake draped around his shoulders, Robert took the stage to share how honored he feels to be joining the show. He fondly recalled watching his sister, Bindi Irwin, take home the mirrorball trophy in 2015 and how that moment inspired him.
“I remember thinking, ‘One day, that’ll be me.’ Now, that dream has come true, and I couldn’t be more thrilled,” Robert told the audience.

When asked how Steve Irwin might have reacted to the steamy photo shoot, Robert joked, “There’d definitely be a few ‘Crikeys’!”
Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars was a ratings success, becoming the top show in the 18–49 age bracket and drawing 7.95 million viewers. The finale broke records with over 32 million votes — setting high expectations for Robert’s season.
