  • Salt, to taste
  • ½ large onion, sliced
  • 2 thin slices lemon (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • Ground black pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lightly grease a baking dish with 1 teaspoon of olive oil.
  3. Rinse trout under cold water and pat dry.
  4. Place fish in the prepared dish and drizzle with remaining oil.
  5. Season both inside and out with dill, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Stuff each trout with onion slices and a lemon slice if desired.
  7. Add 2 tablespoons of hot water to the dish for moisture.
