Blake Shelton AMAs 2025 marked a milestone as the country star took the stage for the very first time at the American Music Awards on Monday, May 26. The glitzy event was held at Fontainebleau Las Vegas and hosted by Jennifer Lopez, featuring dazzling performances from Gwen Stefani, Gloria Estefan, Reneé Rapp, Benson Boone, Lainey Wilson, and, for the first time, Blake Shelton.
Stefani celebrated the 20th anniversary of her iconic album Love.Angel.Music.Baby by performing a medley of her greatest hits including “Hollaback Girl,” alongside a fresh track from her latest release, Bouquet.
Though Blake Shelton has won three AMAs during his career, this marked his debut live performance on the award show stage. He earned the Favorite Male Artist – Country awards in 2011 and 2016, and in 2020, took home Favorite Country Album for Fully Loaded: God’s Country.

Blake Shelton AMAs 2025: A Historic First Performance
Shelton not only performed but also presented during the show. He delivered a powerful rendition of “Stay Country Or Die Tryin’,” a standout track from his newest album, For Recreational Use Only, which came out on May 9th. The song was released as a single on May 19th after his earlier hit “Texas” became his 30th chart-topping single.
Dressed with a red, white, and blue ribbon pinned to his shirt pocket, Shelton proudly brought authentic country vibes to the AMAs, unapologetically embracing his roots amid the glam and sparkle.
He closed his performance with a heartfelt salute, drawing attention to the ribbon to honor the spirit of Memorial Day—paying tribute to the brave men and women who sacrificed for the nation.
Before taking the stage, Blake Shelton shared a touching message on social media: “Never forget the brave men and women who sacrificed everything for our country and our freedom. Remembering our heroes extra today. #MemorialDay.”
