From co-valedictorian of Brusly High School to one of the final three on American Idol, John Foster American Idol 2025 journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Today, his hometown showed just how much pride they have in him.
Earlier today, Foster made an emotional homecoming to Brusly High, standing once again on the same football field where he once delivered his graduation address. Surrounded by students, staff, and supporters, he reflected on the people who helped shape him.
“You’re incredibly lucky,” Foster told the students. “Never doubt the commitment these teachers have for you. I’m here because of them.”
It was a full-circle moment for the 2024 graduate, honored for not only his academic excellence — a GPA over 4.0 and a 33 on the ACT — but also for the national spotlight he’s earned as a rising musical star.

The celebration didn’t stop at the school. A parade kicked off at 5 p.m. on First Street in Addis, Louisiana, with townspeople dressed in school colors and cheering loudly.
Later in the evening, the festivities continued at Bayou Plaquemine Waterfront Park, where fans gathered for a free concert. Foster made a dramatic entrance by boat, cruising down the bayou to waves of excitement.
“We’re beyond proud of John Foster,” said Mayor David Toups. “He’s not only putting Addis on the map, but also making Louisiana proud.”
Security protocols, including a clear bag policy and checkpoints, were in place — but many fans also enjoyed the show from boats on the water.
A Star from Brusly with a National Stage
Foster has captivated American Idol fans and judges alike with his soulful voice and genuine personality. With the finale of John Foster American Idol 2025 just around the corner, his hometown backing is louder than ever.
“Just last year, he was giving his graduation speech,” recalled Brusly High Principal Walt Lemoine. “Now? He’s one of the final three on the biggest stage in the country.”
From pep rallies to tribute videos, nearly every event in Brusly has turned into a celebration of Foster’s success. The school even sent video release forms home so students could appear in media from his visit.
“Brusly’s growing,” said Lemoine, “but we’re still close-knit. Watching John chase his dream and go this far — that’s something we’ll never forget.”
