The announcement came from Actors Audition Studios, the company Lincoln herself founded. They shared the heartbreaking news via Facebook, confirming she died on Tuesday, April 22. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she had been privately facing a battle with breast cancer, though no official cause of death has been disclosed.

Her portrayal of a telekinetic teenager who faces off against Jason Voorhees cemented her place as a genre icon.
Lincoln’s contribution to horror didn’t stop there—she also had a memorable role in Freddy’s Nightmares in 1988. Fellow actress Jennifer Banko, who acted alongside Lincoln, honored her on Instagram with a touching tribute, saying, “Forever our Scream Queen. Forever our Tina Shepard.”
