The community of Prescot is mourning the tragic loss of 13-year-old Layla Allen, who passed away in a devastating house fire on April 2, 2025. The blaze broke out at approximately 11:42 p.m. at a residence on Kingsway. While five family members were able to escape unharmed, Layla tragically did not survive.

Emergency services arrived at the scene promptly and found the fire contained to the first-floor bedroom. By 12:30 a.m., the fire was fully extinguished. Despite valiant efforts to rescue her, Layla Allen was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family, supported by specially trained officers, is deeply grieving the loss of their beloved daughter, sister, and granddaughter.

In a heartfelt statement, Layla’s family described her as an energetic, witty, and loving young girl with a bright spirit that lit up every room. “She had a knack for making everyone laugh, with clever remarks and a vibrant personality that brought joy to those around her. She was full of life, dreams, and love,” they shared. Layla had a passion for makeup, TikTok, and drawing, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire in collaboration with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service. The family has requested privacy during this difficult time as they grieve the loss of their cherished loved one.
