The 59-year-old Springwatch and Dancing on Ice star took to Instagram to post a heartfelt video montage of the newborn baby, announcing that her step-son Thomas Chevallier and his partner Mikayla Humphries became parents on Tuesday.
The beloved natural history presenter, a Springwatch staple since 2011, revealed that Mikayla endured a challenging and lengthy labour lasting 55 hours. “Today I became a Granny!! After a tough and exhausting 55-hour labour, baby Huxley has finally arrived!! So proud of my future daughter-in-law and my step-son. Proud new parents. Me and Granny Jack were a bit emotional. Welcome to the world, baby Huxley. So, so precious,” she wrote. One of the photos showed her glowing with joy while cradling the baby, with Tom standing beside them. She captioned the image, “Granny, dad Tom and baby Huxley,” adding a yellow heart emoji.

Reflecting on her journey, she added, “Dancing On Ice was a chapter of my life that made me feel 10 years younger, so this next chapter—becoming a grandma—is something I need to get used to!! It’s been quite a year so far, and we’re only in April!!”
