A Virginia woman had a truly unforgettable experience at a local restaurant when she discovered a snake in her margarita. Carletta Andrews and her husband went to the Patron Mexican Restaurant and Cantina in Sandston on April 16 for a relaxing dinner. But their night quickly took a bizarre turn when Andrews found herself face-to-face with a baby snake.
As she leaned in to take a sip, something strange brushed against her forehead. At first, she thought it was nothing, but upon closer inspection, she was horrified to find the reptile moving around inside her drink, wrapped around her straw.
“I looked at my husband like, ‘What was that?’ and when I turned around, I saw the snake in my margarita,” Andrews shared with 8 News. “It was a shocking sight, and I couldn’t believe what was happening.”

The Scary Moment When the Snake in Margarita Was Discovered
Snake In Margarita: Despite attempts by staff to remove the snake using a stick, it wasn’t until a fellow diner stepped in and safely took the creature outside that the ordeal ended. Andrews, shaken by the incident, decided to leave the restaurant immediately, though she was offered to sit elsewhere.
“I left shaking. I was traumatized,” she said, expressing her unease. With the snake being a baby, Andrews now wonders if its mother could be lurking nearby.
Could More Snakes Be Inside the Restaurant?
The owner of Patron Mexican Restaurant explained that the snake likely entered the building through the air conditioning system. However, there were no measures in place at the time to prevent a similar occurrence in the future. In fact, earlier inspections revealed other safety issues, including broken handles and missing ceiling tiles, though these were corrected promptly.
After the incident, Andrews is left questioning if the restaurant is taking enough precautions to avoid another snake in margarita situation, raising concerns about the safety of dining there.
