  • 3 carrots, chopped

Directions

  1. Cook peas and ham bone:
    In a large stockpot, combine rinsed split peas, cold water, and the ham bone. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, skimming foam if necessary. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
  2. Add veggies and seasonings:
    Stir in onions, salt, pepper, marjoram, celery, carrots, and diced potato. Simmer uncovered for 1 to 1½ hours, or until peas and vegetables are soft. Add water if the soup becomes too thick.
  3. Finish the soup:
